Carbon-fibre reinforced PET, with a soft satin glow rather than the dead matte of most fibre-filled materials. It is very stiff, very heat resistant, and — unusually for a material in this class — it barely absorbs water.

This is the one for load-bearing parts in a hot, humid environment. Bambu say so explicitly, and the numbers back it: water absorption 0.37% against the nylons' 0.88–2.56%, with heat deflection of 182°C. For Singapore, that combination is hard to beat.

It also runs on every Bambu Lab printer. Alone among the carbon-fibre engineering grades, Bambu list PET-CF as compatible with the whole range — no minimum chamber temperature to worry about.

Feed it from an external spool holder — the AMS series is not compatible. Use a hardened steel or high-flow nozzle, 0.6mm recommended. Bambu specifically advise against the 0.4mm high-flow nozzle. Plain brass or stainless will be destroyed by the carbon fibre.

Tensile strength 74 MPa 102 MPa 92 MPa

PET-CF is the stiffest and most heat-resistant, and by far the least affected by humidity. It gives up tensile strength and toughness to get there — at 8.6 kJ/m² notched it is the most brittle of the four carbon-filled engineering materials we stock.

So: PET-CF for a rigid part that must stay dimensionally true in heat and damp. PAHT-CF if it also has to survive knocks. PA6-CF if raw strength matters most and you can guarantee dry.

Damp barely touches it

Bambu have published dry-versus-humid figures for their carbon-fibre grades, and PET-CF is almost unmoved: bending strength 131 → 127 MPa and stiffness 5320 → 5240 MPa, a loss of around 2%. PA6-CF loses 37% of its bending strength over the same test. If your parts live in Singapore's humidity, that gap matters more than any headline strength figure.

Worth knowing

Glue stick is required, and the Cool Plate SuperTack is not compatible.

Layer bonding is the weak axis. Bending strength falls from 131 MPa in plane to 49 across layers, and impact in Z is 4.5 kJ/m². Orient so load runs along the layers.

It shares PET's good manners — low warping and low shrinkage, so large flat parts behave better than they would in a nylon.

Use Support for PA/PET, specified by name.

Annealing: 80–140°C for 6 to 12 hours, the widest window in our range.

Storage

Bambu specifies under 20% RH, sealed with desiccant, and 80°C for 8–12 hours to dry. Less critical here than with the nylons, but still worth doing before a structural print.

Bambu's usage guide for the carbon-fibre grades covers feeding, drying and the dry-versus-humid data in full: PET-CF / PPA-CF / PPS-CF / PA6-CF Usage Guide
