Type

Same easy printing as PLA Basic, none of the shine. PLA Matte swallows light instead of bouncing it back, and layer lines mostly stop being visible.

If you've ever printed something perfectly and then been annoyed that you could still count the layers under a desk lamp — this is the fix. Props, cosplay, display pieces, anything photographed. It's also built for speed, comfortable at 250–300 mm/s.

At a glance

Density 1.31 g/cm³
Nozzle temp 190–230°C
Bed temp 35–45°C
Enclosure Not required

Nozzle Standard stainless is fine
Compatibility
AMS Lite
AMS / AMS 2 Pro

Spool or Refill?

Spool — Comes on a reusable Bambu spool. Pick this for your first roll of a colour.

Refill — Filament only, $2 cheaper, needs an empty reusable spool to mount on.

Worth knowing

Matte is slightly more brittle than Basic, and shows fingerprints a little more readily — handle finished parts with clean hands and they look immaculate. It's also mildly more abrasive; not enough to trouble a stainless nozzle, but if you print matte daily, a hardened nozzle isn't a silly investment.

Storage

Bambu specifies under 20% RH, sealed with desiccant. A sealed box with fresh desiccant does the job, or a filament dryer if you have one. Drop a cheap hygrometer in the box so you're not guessing.

As filament takes on moisture you'll hear popping or hissing at the nozzle, then see stringing and rough surfaces, and eventually the strand goes brittle enough to snap in the tube. That's almost always moisture, not technique. Dry it at 50°C for 8 hours and it usually comes back.
