Bambu Lab TPU 85A Filament 1.75mm 1kg
Bambu's softest TPU by Shore rating. Made for parts whose job is to absorb energy — protective cases, cushioning pads, squishy fidget toys, bump stops.
It stretches further than any other filament we stock: past 700% of its original length before it breaks.
0.6mm or 0.8mm nozzle only, and no AMS. Bambu do not support 0.2mm, 0.4mm or the high-flow nozzles for this material — it is too soft to push reliably through a fine one. Run it from an external spool holder; the AMS, AMS Lite and AMS 2 Pro are all listed as incompatible.

Printing it
Expect it to be slow. Bambu's own test specimens were printed at 34 mm/s. The 200 mm/s ceiling is theoretical for simple geometry.
Overhang about 40°, bridging about 10mm — the tightest limits of any material we stock. Supports on.
Retraction short and slow: 0.4–0.8mm at 10–30 mm/s. Aggressive retraction just squashes soft filament in the tube.
Cool bed at 30–35°C with glue. A hot plate will bond TPU hard enough to damage the PEI surface when you remove the part.
Strength where it counts
Impact strength is 124.3 kJ/m² in plane and 88.5 kJ/m² across layers — the best Z-direction figure of any material we sell. A cushioning part that gets squashed repeatedly won't delaminate.
It stretches past 700% before breaking, the highest in our range. Tensile strength is 12.0 MPa, which is low, but that is not what this material is for. It resists oils and greases, though not acids or alkalis.
Storage
Bambu specifies under 20% RH, sealed with desiccant, and 70°C for 8 hours to dry.

Figures from the Bambu Lab TPU 85A technical data sheet v1.0, with nozzle and AMS compatibility from the Bambu Lab store. Bending and heat-deflection figures are not published for this material, as they are not meaningful for an elastomer. Real-world results vary with printer, settings and model geometry.
