Configuration

The X2D is the top of the range in its size class, and the reason is the second hotend. Two independent hotends, each with its own filament path — which means you can print a model in one material while laying down supports in another, without the purge waste that multi-material printing normally costs you.

A highlight feature of this machine is its actively heated chamber, up to 65°C, which does not exist on similar machines like the P2S. That's what makes ABS, ASA, PC and nylon composites genuinely reliable rather than merely possible: a warm chamber stops layers cooling unevenly, which is what causes the warping and delamination that ruin tall engineering prints.

1000 mm/s toolhead. 120°C bed. HEPA H12 filtration. This is the machine you buy when printing is part of how you work, not a weekend thing.

Free with your printer

Add PLA Basic to your cart alongside the printer and we'll take it off automatically at checkout — 2 free spools with the X2D, 4 free spools with the Combo. No code needed, any colours you like.

Both configurations also include a free touchscreen protector.

Two hotends, and why it matters

Most multi-colour printing works by purging — swapping filament in a single hotend and flushing the old colour out, which produces a pile of waste for every change. Two independent hotends sidestep that entirely for two-material prints.

The practical wins: soluble or breakaway supports in a different material from the model, printed properly rather than as a compromise. Two colours with no purge waste. And harder combinations — a rigid body with a flexible section where it needs to give.

The two hotends work differently by design. The main hotend is a direct drive extruder — short filament path, precise control, and the one to use for anything demanding. The auxiliary hotend is fed from an extruder on the rear, which keeps the toolhead light and fast, and is ideally suited to support material and second colours.

Build volume is 256 × 256 × 260mm on the main hotend, and 235.5 × 256 × 256mm when both are in play.

Which one should I get?

X2D Combo
Colours per print Up to 2 Up to 5
AMS 2 Pro included — Yes
Sealed storage — Yes
Active drying — Yes
Free PLA Basic 2 4
Price $1,120 $1,450

Sealed storage with active drying keeps PLA, PETG and TPU in good condition between prints — worth more than it sounds in Singapore's humidity, where an open spool starts absorbing moisture the day you unwrap it.

Worth knowing what it won't do: PA-CF, PPA-CF and PC need higher drying temperatures than the AMS 2 Pro reaches. For those, use a dedicated filament dryer like the AMS HT and print straight from it.

Room to grow

The X2D supports up to 25 colours in a single print — a maximum of 4 AMS 2 Pro units plus 8 AMS HT units, plus an external spool.

Note: Drying while printing is only supported with the AMS 2 Pro Switching Adapter, sold separately.

What's included

X2D — X2D 3D Printer, touchscreen protector, plus 2× PLA Basic free.

X2D Combo — X2D 3D Printer, AMS 2 Pro, touchscreen protector, plus 4× PLA Basic free.

Filament it likes

Effectively everything Bambu makes. PLA, PETG, ABS and ASA run on either hotend. PA, PC and PVA too, with proper drying first.

Composites run on both hotends — carbon and glass fibre reinforced PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PA6, PAHT and PET-CF. Hardened steel nozzles and hardened extruder gears are fitted as standard, so nothing needs upgrading.

Support materials belong on the auxiliary hotend, which is exactly what it's built for — Support for PLA, Support for PLA/PETG and Support for ABS all run there, so your model keeps the main hotend to itself.

A few materials print better on the main hotend: TPU and other flexibles should stay on the direct drive side, along with PLA Silk, PETG-CF, ASA-CF and PA6-CF. PLA Aero is main hotend only.

Air handling

Three-stage filtration: a G3 pre-filter, an H12 HEPA filter, and granulated coconut shell activated carbon. VOCs and particulates both handled, with an external exhaust fan.

This is the most thorough air handling in the range, and the reason the X2D is the sensible choice if it's going in a shared workspace or a room people spend time in. Still ventilate when running ABS, ASA or nylon — filtration reduces emissions, it doesn't remove them.

Warranty & support

1 year from date of purchase, handled by Convergent Systems Pte Ltd, Bambu Lab's authorised service partner in Singapore.

No paid setup — the printer walks you through calibration itself. But if you get stuck on settings, slicer profiles or a print that won't behave, ask us. Happy to help.

Before you order

392 × 406 × 478mm and 16.25kg on your desk. Boxed it's 20kg, or 22.05kg with the AMS 2 Pro, so delivery lands in our upper weight bands. Self-collection is free and worth considering.

Power draw peaks at 1600W at 220V when the chamber and bed are heating. That's a kettle's worth — worth a thought about which circuit it shares.
